my story
I started tying flies because I wanted to catch fish with something I made myself—but early on, I had no idea what I was doing. I also learned that my lifelong battle with essential tremor, was holding me back. Fast forward to 2024. I underwent DBS surgery to fight the tremor. Now my hands are steady but my voice got lost in the shuffle. In October of 2024 I earned The Bronze Fly tying skills award from Fly Fishers International Fly Tying Group.
Over the years, I learned what works, what doesn’t, and how to keep it simple without sacrificing results. I created Attainable Ties to help you skip the frustration and get straight to tying flies you’ll be proud to cast.
